Otoplasty (ear pinning)

Every person that has to deal with ears that protrude abnormally from the sides of the head - sometimes called Dumbo or Mickey Mouse ears - knows how hard life can be. Children often become victims of that scenario even before kindergarten or first grade and this condition can lead to self-consciousness, low self-esteem or psychological trauma. Also quite a number of adults experience their prominent or protruding ears as annoying and want to take care of the
problem. Otoplasty or ear pinning is a surgery procedure we perform to relieve you of that circumstance. We have  helped numerous younger and older clients to permanently take care of the problem. The two most typical common threads are the absence of or a poorly defined antihelix (inner fold of the ear) and/ or an often too prominent base of the ear (conchal bowl). Depending on the result of the medical report and our diagnosis we decide which surgery procedure or which combination of surgical manoeuvers will be performed to achieve the desired result. Otoplasty is possible after children have reached preschool age because at this stage the growing process of the external ear has been mostly completed.
